Buyer's Guide: Questions to ask when buying a Memory Foam Mattress

Due to public demand, we've put together a six-point guide to help you when buying a memory foam mattress. Wherever you buy it, from a store, or over the internet, make sure you know the following. These are the most important aspects of your puchase, and will help you sleep at night - in more ways than one! • Check the Depth and Density of the Memory Foam top layer
  You'll find that some mattress sellers don't even quote densities of foam that are on their mattresses. This is the single most important factor in your purchase. You should aim for 55kg or above. All memory Foam Warehouse mattresses and overlays (toppers) are manufactured from the highest quality memory foam.
• Check it's Safe
  There are many less scrupulous traders out there, especially on the internet, selling mattresses that don't conform to UK safety legislation. Call them up! Ask for a fire certificate for the product. Don't put yourself at risk for a few pounds. All our products fully conform to all UK legislation.
• Check the Depth and Density of the Base Foam
  As with the top layer, this is a key measure of the support and comfort of the mattress. Ask the seller what the density of the base foam is and make sure that it is at least 35kg.  Anything less than this will break down very quickly and will become very unsupportive. Many big retailers on the high street employ poorly trained staff who are just geared toward selling anything. Our experience with medical mattresses ensures we know the answers.
• Warranty
  Check the small print, most companies offers a 5 year warranty, which is usually pro-rata after year one.  Don't be mislead into thinking that you are getting a guarantee rather than warranty.
• Are they an 'Internet Bedroom Trader'?
  Our own research shows that many internet sites selling mattresses are run from people's homes. Check the contact details - FROM JANUARY THIS YEAR ALL COMPANIES MUST BY LAW DISPLAY THEIR PHYSICAL ADDRESS,REGISTERED COMPANY NUMBER, ETC ON THEIR WEBSITE. Call them on the phone. You'll find many phone numbers go to answerphone, which is not fun when you are trying to get hold of them. We have friendly, knowledgeable staff who are based at our showroom where you can try all the products from our website.
• Are there Hidden Costs - Delivery, VAT, etc.
  All our prices include VAT, and delivery is free on orders over £200 (most mattresses).
